SPECIAL TERMSComponents: Aspects of a spell casting description; including Verbal (spoken), Somatic (Motions or gestures), Material (various physical ingredients), Focus (a specific object of power) and Divine Focus (a specific object of religious significance). Spell: A description of a specific magical effect. Spell Resistance: A special ability that may negate the effect of certain spells when cast on characters with Spell Resistance. The Eight Schools of Magic: Abjuration, Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Evocation, Illusion, Necromancy and Transmutation ABILITIES AND SPELLCASTERSEach spellcasting class has spellcasting capability tied to a specific Ability, as described by that class. If a character's score in that ability is 9 or lower, the character can't cast spells tied to that ability.
