Piecemeal Armor
Often, characters will find themselves in the field with a chance to scavenge useful armor off of a fallen foe and better their equipment. This can lead to characters gathering unusual armor types and combinations. When this occurs, consult the table below as a start and see what can be made. (Round down)

Piecemeal Weight
To calculate the weight of a piecemeal suit of armor, follow these guidelines:
The Breastplate is 60% of the original suit.
Each arm and leg is 10% the weight of the original suit.
Max Dex, Armor Check Penatly, and Arcane Spell Failure
Piecemeal suits encumber the character more than normal armor due to the pieces not being "tailored" to work together. Maximum Dexterity bonus is calculated by looking at a suit of armor with the closest weight and then reducing the Max. Dex. Bonus by 2. Armor Check Penalties are calculated the same way and are also increased by 2. Arcane Spell Failure is increased by 10% for piecemeal suites. If two suits of armor are identical in weight, use the worst one. Speed isn't affected by piecemeal suites and is in fact calculated by weight as normal.
Magical Armor
Full suits of magical armor that have extra pieces added to it retain its magical bonus but still are processed like normal for Max Dex. Bonus, Armor Check Penalty, and Arcane Spell Failure. Suits of armor that are broken apart and made piecemeal loose all of their magical properties and bonuses. For example, someone who adds chain leggings to a magical breastplate +2 gets a total armor bonus of +8.
Unusual Material Armor
Materials made out of unusual material follow the guidelines for those armors. i.e. A Mithril breastplate still gives +2 enhancement if it is used in a suit of full plate or as just the breastplate and leather piecemeal.
